This site contains information about the linguistic work by me, Jean Robert Opgenort. My research focusses on endangered Kiranti languages of Nepal. In addition to my two major books on Wambule and Jero, I have authored several studies on related themes, including some historical studies and a grammatical sketch of Tilung. I am currently working on the Kiranti Database, which is a research programme for the study of the Kiranti language family. I was also involved in the third edition of the UNESCO Atlas of the World’s Languages in Danger.
