A Grammar of Wambule
The book A Grammar of Wambule is the revised and enlarged version of the doctoral dissertation The Wāmbule Language. The book consists of ten chapters and five annexes with sixteen analysed texts (including a 52-page long sacred text of the oral tradition chanted by wedding negotiators), a Wambule-English-Nepali and English-Wambule lexicon, verbal paradigms and an overview of the first material published on the language; an exhaustive reference work for Wambule/Tibeto-Burman linguistics, language typology, linguistic theory and Wambule society and culture, and as such indispensable for any linguistic and anthropological library.This book was sponsored by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO), the Niels Stensen Stichting and the International Institute of Asian Studies (IIAS).
